About SpotBird SMS Notifications

SpotBird is a waitlist management service that helps businesses fill last-minute appointment cancellations. When you join a business's waitlist, you may receive SMS text messages notifying you of available appointment slots.

How SMS Opt-In Works

When a SpotBird user adds you to their waitlist, they will obtain your consent before adding your phone number. By providing your phone number and agreeing to receive notifications, you consent to receive SMS messages from SpotBird on behalf of that business.

Consent is obtained when:

  • You verbally agree to be added to a waitlist and provide your phone number
  • You fill out a form (paper or digital) requesting to join a waitlist
  • You text a keyword to a business's phone number to join their waitlist

Message Types and Frequency

SpotBird sends appointment availability notifications on behalf of businesses. Message frequency varies based on the business's cancellation patterns and your position on their waitlist.

Typical message frequency: You may receive 1-5 messages per month, depending on appointment availability. Messages are only sent when relevant appointments become available.

Sample Messages

Here are examples of the types of messages you may receive:

"Hi [Name]! A slot just opened at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. Reply YES to claim it! - [Business Name]"

"Great news [Name]! An appointment is now available tomorrow at 10:00 AM. Reply YES to book! - [Business Name]"

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:

  • Reply STOP to any message you receive from SpotBird
  • Contact the business that added you to their waitlist and ask to be removed
  • Email us at support@spotbird.app with your phone number and we will remove you from all waitlists

Note: Opting out of one business's messages will only remove you from that specific waitlist. To stop all SpotBird messages, reply STOP to any message or contact us directly.

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply. SpotBird does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for receiving text messages based on your plan.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your phone number and personal information are protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information is only used to send appointment notifications on behalf of the businesses whose waitlists you have joined.
